Drying Boxes

We prefer to dry our medicine in home built drying boxes. This provides us the convenience of emptying out our growroom quickly, so that we may start the process of cleaning and disinfecting our equipment. This picture shows the carbonfilter, inline fan and manifold box sitting atop the drying box.

Another view of the drying box.

The carbonfilter/fan can be lifted off of the unit to be used as a portable air scrubber.

This view shows how we connected both the old and new drying boxes.

We installed blastgates on both drying boxes so as to provide air flow control.

This photo shows the inside of the individual drawers. We removed the bottom of the drawers and added wire racks to hold the bud for drying. We managed to fit three racks per drawer.

How it works

Wet plant material is placed inside the drying boxes. Once the drawers are closed and the inline fan is plugged in, the drying begins. Air is sucked through the drying boxes which speeds up drying a great deal. The odour is cleansed from the air and is redistributed within the room. We used to plug our drying box directly into our air cooled lights. But this taxed the air cooled light's carbon filter too much. Doing things this way, we filter the air several times before it leaves our home.
